Well...we have resisted for almost six months, but have finally decided to allow paid advertising on the site. We really didn't want to go that route, but we are getting a lot of e-mails from patients in need of caregivers and physicians. The folks here are thinking that if we provide the basic listings free of charge that more caregivers and physicians will add themselves to the locator tool. And the paid advertising will help us pay back the patient who funded the site...and allow for us to do more community related support activities in the future. So...if you start to see some advertising, that is why. Wish us luck! And keep those basic listings coming - because they are always free from here on out.

Patients Look Here
Dear Melissa,
We have gone ahead and posted your comment in the forum as well, in the newly formed "Caregivers Seeking Patients" section. We just created it today, it seems like a good section for people to connect.

can anyone help me?
HelloMy name is Stephen use(d) cannabis for my chronic pain condition. I recently had someone call D.C.F. (here in CT) anonymously DCF worker came to my door with a police officer and it was just like geshtapo, told me I had no choice but to let them in.I foolishly let them in thinking they would look around and see that the Children were well (I have 4 yr old twins) and be on thier way,but alas they did not, and the DCF investigator Made me open a closet that contained my modest grow (about 18 seedlings and 2 plants nearing harvest) The DCF threatened us a number of times to "take our children"
We have been compliant with what the DCF has ordered us to do ie:go to treatment at a place called new perceptions. They are still involved in our lives even though it was clear to the worker(s) that they were not being "neglected" the first investigator actually asked me at one point "what if one of your kids got into your closet and ate a bud"..I was blown away at her ridiculous question and responded "my children are not Goats or Rabbits or Dear..and they don't eat fauna"
We currently have a "physical neglect" case with DCF (even though the plants have been gone since day one of they're investigation.
about a month later they (the state police served me with a warrant for "cultivation (in CT cultivation is the same charge as possesion with intent to sell)
I am hoping that perhaps you guys might be able to provide me with some kind of advice or at the very least a cannabis friendly doctor near where I live here in CT.
As I stated earlier I have chronic pain issues (the Pain killers and treatment I have recieved fromm my doctors have not helped me the way cannabis has) and a few other health issues that I use cannabis to relieve.
I was told at a lawyer consultation that if I could appear in court with a letter or note from a physician stating that "I would Benefit from cannabis" I would most likely help me in the criminal case and also may get the DCF to drop thier case against us.
As you can probably understand I am trying desperately to find some help in this matter and turning to groups like this seems to make sense.
Thank you far any and all help in this matter.
Thank you and happy holidays
Sincerely
Stephen

Dear Steve,
Unfortunately, medical marijuana laws have not yet been passed for Conneticut, so we do not have anyone to recommend to you. However, you can take action by working together with organizations such as the Marijuana Policy Project:
http://www.mpp.org/states/connecticut/
To stay updated, you can subscribe to their legistlative alert e-mail, which will let you know when things change.
Also, here is the link to the NORML page for Conneticut, which provides you with chapter information, so that you can join (or work together with other medical marijuana activists in your state).

Very best of luck to you -
Jeanne
