What are the benefits to joining the Association of Medical Marijuana Caregivers?

Well, membership is free!  When you become a member on our site, you will be given access to our Locator Tool, Blog and Forum.  The Locator Tool is an excellent resource for patients to find assistance close to home, whether through a physician, caregiver, dispensary or compassion club. Our Blog is dedicated to keeping our members up to date on the latest news in the medical marijuana community, enabling members to stay informed on issues.  Members can also connect with the medical marijuana community through our Forum.  There is no membership cost for patients.

How does the rating system work?

We have a rating system in place which gives our patient members the opportunity to rate physicians, caregivers and dispensaries through a five star rating system.  These ratings to assist other patients to select the right physician, caregiver or dispensary for their needs.

Does my state currently support the use of medical marijuana?

To date, there are 13 states that have enacted laws supporting the use of medical marijuana:  Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.  For more information on specific state laws, please click here to be redirected to the Medical Marijuana in Your State section of our site. Maryland has passed laws regarding medical marijuana, but there are additional considerations for patients in that state.  For these reasons, we have opted not to include Maryland in our list of states where medical marijuana use has been legalized.  Please click here for more information on the laws in Maryland.

What if I cannot locate a physician, caregiver, dispensary or compassion club from my area on this site?

We are constantly looking to increase our database of physicians, caregivers, dispensaries and compassion clubs.  If you don’t see one in your area, check back!  We are adding to our database and updating the site on a daily basis.

My state does not currently support the use of medical marijuana.  Can I obtain a recommendation for medical marijuana in another state?

If your state does not have a program for medical marijuana, any marijuana use is illegal, regardless of a physician recommendation. Though some states have reciprocity agreements (such as Montana and Rhode Island), you are otherwise unprotected if you are outside your state, and may be arrested and charged with a criminal or civil offense.
